Music

The music program at PS 98 is designed to grow with the child through the years spent at the school, beginning with an introduction to music concepts, singing, dance, concerts, and instruments in Kindergarten. As each child moves on, the curriculum expands to incorporate stories and learning about composers throughout history and the history they lived through. Students will also get an opportunity to learn various musical instruments such as ukulele, keyboard, recorder, and percussion. Projects, listening experiences, concerts and workshops from our partner Midori and Friends, and music games enhance the instruction. In addition, students are given opportunities to participate in the 3rd to 5th grade Chorus. In the end, all students walk away with a new appreciation for music and its purpose in the world.
