TECHNOLOGY

Technology Resources for Students
The mission of our Instructional Technology program is to create an educational environment that is strengthened and supported by information and communications technology. The dual goals of the elementary computer program are to develop students' technology skills while at the same time integrating computers into the PreK-5 classroom curriculum.
Our philosophy is to view technology as educational tool to be used creatively, responsibly, and collaboratively for teaching and learning in order to solve problems and to access, analyze, present, and communicate information.
Every 21st Century student needs the opportunity to learn computer science. The basic programming will help to nurture creativity, problem-solving skills and prepare students for future career and opportunities. Our Technology teacher utilizes the curriculum developed by Code.org. By the end of each course, even our youngest students will be able to create interactive games or stories that they can share with anyone. The lessons are aligned to CSTA Computer Science Standards, ISTE standards and reinforces concepts and skills taught in other subject areas by integrating NYS Next Generation Learning Standards State Standards, and Science standards.
Our school has a fully equipped PC computer lab and all of our classrooms have Interactive White Boards. We recently purchased new STEM Labs Stations, 3D printers, and other STEM materials, like Lego Education, Code and Go Mouse, and VR Kits.
